Unsurprisingly crime continues to escalate against a background of inflation, unemployment, and growing desperation for many.

If you would like a review of your security /your neighbourhood and a general update on crime for your area we are on hand. Just give us a call.

Load shedding continues to impact security.

Most systems need power to run

Batteries fail during the long power cuts and are unable to charge fully with the shorter power window

Multiple discharges destroys the battery

Poor battery power means more false alarms, which are costly for us and irritating for you

Systems turned off /do not work and so increase in risk to the site!

Replacing batteries is no good, and just getting a bigger battery is not the solution – it will not charge in the short power window. It is all expensive and irritating!

We have imported a range of solar panels and batteries for systems (alarms and fences). We will sell at cost to existing clients, if your account is up to date.

This hopefully will encourage you to take some action, make you more secure, lower the number of false alarms, make us more effective in response and keep our prices to you down.

Thank you for using Safeguard!

The number of break in and theft incidents however surged a further 18% month on month

The most common entry points to premises are simply a hop over unprotected walls or through the main gate .Entry to residential homes and businesses is mainly through the front or back door

Theft of batteries remains high on the list- gate motors, vehicle, and truck batteries (industrial/commercial.)

Armed robberies remain a regular occurrence in residential areas. A change in approach shows that in most cases the weapons are knives rather than handguns. ALSO IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT IN MOST CASES ENTRY WAS BY FOLLOWING THE RESIDENT INTO THEIR HOME WHEN THEY RETURNED HOME IN THE EVENINGS.

Finally, if you have a CCTV camera system make sure that the recording element is secure to prevent the evidence leaving with the thieves. It is also a good idea to connect your cameras to the response centre so that they can see what is going on when an alarm activates, and respond more effectively.
