Security Advice

  • Ensure to arm your alarm as early as possible.
  • Keep your doors locked in the early evening especially between 18:00 and 20:30.
  • Avoid parking your vehicle in unmanned parking lots especially at night as criminals are targeting valuables left on car seats in vehicles. Belongings should always be left in the boot.
  • Drive with your doors locked and do not stop if an unknown vehicle tries to flag you down or stop you. Rather, press your panic button if you sense you are in danger and drive to the nearest police station, busy road, or shopping centre.
  • Remember to frequently test your panic button and do not hesitate to call us regarding the servicing of your system.
  • Outlook

At the start of November, a robbery was reported in Greystone Park. Approximately 5 to 7 suspects forcibly entered a residence at around 7pm and attacked a female resident before fleeing the scene with a handbag. Robbery incidents are likely to increase as we approach December (increased festivities, spending, and drinking often attract criminal activity especially at sites with poor security). As a result, sites without alarms, top guarding (electric fence or razor wire), and those with weak perimeter remain easy targets with Safeguard urging clients to upgrade their security systems.
Clients that facilitate remittances are urged to be more vigilant as we approach the festive season. Safeguard continues to urge clients to always minimise the amount of money kept on site and to avoid storing money on site overnight. Safeguard offers both cash-in-transit and storage services which are recommended during this time.
As Zimstat carries out a mapping exercise in preparation for the 2022 census, residents and businesses are urged to always request identification cards and refrain from opening the gate for strangers. Any questions can always be asked through the intercom or gate.
For a walk through of your security at home or business, please do not hesitate to give Safeguard a call. Your safety is our priority.
    Thank you for using Safeguard.
