SEPTEMBER 2019 OVERVIEW
NATIONWIDE CRIME OVERVIEW, MARCH 2019 – SEPTEMBER 2019
  • Overall the number of reported incidents remains high , and with the further surge in inflation likely to remain so for the months ahead
  • Break-in and theft incidents remain the most prevalent crimes; however, armed robberies remain a serious occurrence in the northern suburbs and most recently in the southern commercial premises in Hatfield.

In September 2019, more incidents reported the use of firearms as opposed to knives and catapults (with one incident reporting shots fired by suspects) indicating a rise in a more skilled group of criminals as well as a higher risk of violence.

If you would like an update on your security at home or business, or just an update on the crime in your area, please contact us at info@safeguard.co.zw and we will arrange a visit for you.

  • Cash continues as the main target and we recommend the use of cash-in-transit vehicles to move money, and strongly advise that you do not store cash on your premises.

  • The following areas are currently high risk. Increased vigilance is recommended.
